ICAP Crypto — FCA clone warning

The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) first warned about ICAP Crypto on 24 May 2019 and updated the notice on 10 May 2021. It identifies the clone website as www.icapcrypto.com.

Copied identity is not authorisation

The FCA describes ICAP Crypto as an unauthorised operation pretending to be an authorised firm. The genuine firm named is ICAP Europe Limited, firm reference number 188984. The FCA explicitly says the genuine firm has no connection with the clone.

The shared ICAP name must not be used to attach the clone warning to the genuine business. This dated warning does not establish particular wallet movements, complaint amounts or recovery outcomes.
